The NSPCC Schools Service wants to reach out and empower younger children with the knowledge they need to keep themselves safe from abuse, working with them from an early age helping them to understand and recognise what is and isn’t normal behaviour. Our trained volunteers are visiting primary schools across the UK to deliver age appropriate assemblies and workshops that help children learn what is ‘OK’ and ‘not OK’, how to stay safe and where to find help if they need it. So far we have reached over 550,000 children through 7,519 school visits and by 2018 we hope to have the capacity to reach every primary school in the UK giving every child the chance to a brighter, safer future.
How much does it cost:
£12 could cover the cost of the NSPCC Schools Service to reach one primary school child
£800 could cover the cost to reach one school through the NSPCC Schools Service
£2,800 could recruit, train and support one volunteer for their first year with the Schools
Service. They will deliver the service to at least 720 children in 10 primary schools each year.
£25,000 could cover the cost to reach 31 schools and 2,232 children in one year
