Home offices can be a bit tricky to decorate; they always depict a more home-ish look which is very relaxed and informal. In regards to this, people tend to compensate for this and redecorate them so that they portray a more office like environment and aura. However, they also want to personalise it their liking so that their taste and interest is reflect in it. All this can make office decoration somewhat complicated however it is not an impossible task to pull off. This can be done in a number of ways. Today we will focus on some of the geeky ways to decorate a home office.
Red Swingline Stapler
A stapler is (forgive the pun) a staple requirement for every office place and the red Swingline Stalper has something of a cult following. Who remembers the red stapler from Office Space? As any geek would tell you, it's all about the accessories that matter. The Swingline stapler was launched in 2002 after immense customer demand. They want the exact same colour and the exact same design as the one used in the movie Office Space. It's not just a stapler. It's a Swingline! Get one for your desk but remember to hide it from any Lumberg type characters.
The Google Bean Bag
A good office should also have a relaxing corner where people can unwind, kick back and get comfortable. Beans bags are all too common in the geek world. However a Google Bean Bag? Now that's hardcore! It's our own way of having our own little Googleplex of sorts.
Enter Key Doormat
This one is unique and catchy. There are literally hundreds of thousands of different designs and texts for doormats out there today. However, this one uses a refreshing approach. It looks like the ENTER key of a keyboard and has the words Enter engraved on it. This makes it one of the most ideal piece of office accessories for home offices. Place it outside your office. It is bound to get noticed and fellow geeks will applaud.
Video Game Posters
Most geeks are also avid gamers. As such, their office will feature some items or accessories that will relate to that passion. A game poster not only covers up a section of the wall, it also looks good and adds to the overall look of the office. There are some really cool looking posters out there. Some can take up an entire section. While we wouldn't want that unless your business is in game development, a couple of nifty looking posters based on some popular games is a great way to add "colour" to your home office.
Recycled Mac Clock
Some items can tell a lot about a person almost instantly. You will find this clock situated above most corner computer desk. This clock from Mac says two things. You care about the environment and that you love Apple products. Notice that it doesn't have numbers, just four markers which would make it difficult for some people to read the time. Not for geeks though!
The list goes on however these are just some of the most widely used and equally popular choices of redecorating a home office. Ultimately it comes down to the person's own taste and how they envision their office design.
